Art Casting of Illinois, Inc. will use either a mold we have made or one you provide to create editions of your piece. The wax is used as part of our bronze casting process (lost-wax). Some artists prefer artist proofs or full editions to be made in plaster. The plaster we use is casting grade and very strong, however, it does not have the durability or long-lasting quality of bronze, nor does it have the versatility of finishes. Plaster is, for some, a cost-effective solution.
You are also welcome to bring your waxes and we will pick up the process from there. This will help in reducing your cost.
